Breakfast at Tiffany's (Final Scene)

The Best ending of a Movie. Could a Trenchcoat be more Romantic? Could Pouring Rain be more romantic? I had a cat like this- a big marmalade lug- still miss Philo...And Bless this Man in the trenchcoat- he says it like it is.You have to have guts to have Love.Tell me your favorite movie....

Love that movie. I could watch it over and over and now I have the oldest girl hooked too.

Sorry about your cold. We all seem to be going through the doldrums lately (see POP latest post). I thought it was just me and I was blaming it on our killer heat wave.

Global warming?

my favorite love story is enternal sunshine of the spotless mind or Solaris. Solaris is a remake of an old Russian film that everyone tells me is waaaay better, but I have yet to see it.

Just got a note from Kenji-san in Japan, and he has a nasty summer cold too. So it ain't just you...hope you feel better soon.

I hate to admit it, but I've never seen B@Tiff. I'm still recovering from watching Bridge Over the River Kwai last weekend, and starting a mildly boring job this week. I am busy reminding myself to Be Happy in my Work...

Get well soon, girlfriend!

From around the time of B@Tiff...comes An Affair To Remember...and the music is good also. I've always liked Deborah Kerr...and paired with Cary Grant was good chemistry.

For oldtimey romance movies, I love the offbeat ones, like The King & I (note: Sumo, my mom named me for Deborah Kerr, Shall we Dance?), or The Philadelphia Story (I wanted to BE kate hepburn). Of more recent love stories, Immortal Beloved & Dangerous Liasons got to me (for different reasons). My #1 favorite movie depends on my mood, but #2 is always Dr. Strangelove! Enigma, pleeease take good care of your cold, nurses make the worst patients. And send some of your rain down here, we're high & dry. D.K.

That is a great movie. I love watching Audrey Hepburn--always so graceful and stylish. She was the best thing ever to come out of Belgium (ok, aside from the chocolate and my husband).

I can't decide on a favorite. I guess my top 3 are Rashomon directed by Akira Kurosawa (just about anything by him is a great movie), The Lion in Winter, and Guess Who Is Coming to Dinner. The last two have great dialogue and the acting is fantastic.

I'm glad to have a more up-to-date PC at work than at home so I can play this multi-media stuff...can't say I've ever seen "breakfast at Tiffany's", but it's got my interest now...thanks, enigma!

I also can't pick an overall favorite movie, but I could pick one favorite by category, so in the category of romances, I'd have to go with "Casablanca"...it's got everything, lost love, found love, noble idealism and even plenty of male bonding("Louis, I think this is the begining of a beautiful friendship")...

sorry to hear you are sick, enigma and I hope you are feeling better today! get lots of rest and drink plenty of fluids, etc, etc...

Maine Friend: So good you can see the vidoes now...and Casablanca is a Wonderful Movie...B@Tiff's is a great movie- it has twists and turns- and isn't as cut&dry a romance...but she like Ingrid has some beautiful qualities- you can see why men fall in love with her...and gee both movies have Final Scenes that have TrenchCoat Moments...sigh.

SOTHIS: great- new movies to explore- thank you....hmm, chocolate- that is what I need..that will help my cold.

DK: thanks for coming by and wow you picked some good ones too, and you are named for Deborrah wow- very cool. She is so beautiful and classy.

Glenda: OF COURSE ;-)

SUMO: ahh Cary Grant...sigh..sigh...yup...anything with HIM...

MEL: good for you new boring job( I do hope it is MUCH better than last one)...and hmm, maybe my cold in imported...it's a killer...day 3 of Hell for me, it better leave soon...oh,well , will watch more movies and hibernate..

Graeme: Have not seen Solaris ( am very curious now) , but Spotless Mind is a great movie( Jim's preformance was really touching- oscar worthy).

Granny: good to see you- yup I think my cold was caused by global warming ( hehe) ...and glad you too love the movie- and that you can watch with your daughter...hang in there...the Heat has to end sometime...

Enigma: I fully agree that it takes guts to have love... and I fully agree-- that when it comes to sex-- these lines from Bjork's song Big Time Sensuality sum it up nicely: It takes courage to enjoy it.

OMG!...I know the dialogue of "The Lion In Winter" forward and back...a tour de force of acting and emotion. Immortal Beloved is great too...and Amadeus is a favorite...is there more room?

enigma4ever said...

TINA: wow...I loved what you wrote...right now I was just thinking that it takes alot of Guts to Love...hmm, about other aspects...whelp...maybe a different kind of courage ?....(I think for me it is more like the U2 song- "Still haven't found What I'm looking for")....( hmm, but I am single mom with a 15 yr old- there are days I can't find my keys..much less other things..and the sexiest thing offered to me has been fresh coffee...so OMG what the hell do I know???....not much..mot much at all.)

SUMO: great movie pick..and blast away,...I need to watch movies this weekend..sick as a dog- and MSM is driving me nuts- so I would love to hear your favs ;-)

My favourite film? It's GOT to be Omar and Julie in Dr Zhivago. Even to hear that music "Somewhere my love..." sends shiver down my spine - and I'm a tough old coot. And a pretty close second is the same as Glenda's'The Wizaed odf Oz'. Then third? An old Chaplin one - Limelight. And favourite musical ? R & H's Carousel. Remember this one from it? "You'll never walk alone".

Duh. I'd better stop right there or I'll be sat here for hours listing lots more great golden oldies.

PS - thanks for your support & encouragement over at my place, enigma. It's appreciated - truly.
