PARADISE LOST OR JUST BROKEN? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO OUR COUNTRY ?

What the hell has happened to Our Country? Is anyone noticing? Is Anyone keeping Score? Well maybe We should ....
Cause quite simply it ain't Pretty and it Ain't Paradise .
And before I see one more Terra Ad written for "Soccer Moms" and beer swilling Nascar Dads....I have a few thoughts.

So let's talk about some of the King's Great Work...and the Repugs...
( Every Tuesday I think I will Review the Wonders until Election Day, Please contribute too- let's see if we can hit 100 by Election Day- betcha we can...)

(1) About 911. I still would like Someone, oh hell Anyone to explain to me WHY the Hell the Emergency Broadcast System was not used. And why we have this Great AirForce- and yet NORAD did squat on 911 between 8:30 am and noon ( that we know of). Althought there are many questions about the Pentagon and that Field in Pennsylvania. And let's not forget the Human Shield Moment- Bush reading a Goat Book with Children while he pissed his pants.

And Now the Bigger Question is Why 40,000 Plus were exposed to Horrendous Toxins and Lies.....
( and please someone explain to my Why there is NO Memorial at the WTC Site- how disrespectful....of the Dead and the Living- but now that we have lived through Katrina we know that People's Lives are easily disrespected....)

(2) FDA and CDC waited over 3 weeks to get "involved" with the latest EColi Outbreak- anyone want to bet some good moeny that all the Money has pissed away on Bird Flu Protection- and screw EColi and BSE ( Mad Cow Virus) Programs.

(3) Anyone want to guess how well our Ports are Protected and Improved Since 911 ? How about Chemical Plants ? Borders? Trains?
yeah...get back to me on that....

(4) Katrina....well where do you want me to start? And How Many Programs are "under" the Homeland Insecurity Blanket?
Let' s just say the Damage alone is enough to send the Entire Administration to jail for a long time. And about Katrina- Jack Cafferty said it better than I ever could...so watch the YouTube below...

(5) 47 Million without Health Care- APPALLING, SHAMEFUL.FUCKING INEXCUSABLE. ( And don't get me started on the VETS and Guard that are out on the Street and NOT even included in this number- with no care, no jobs, no homes.....)

YeeeHAAAW! She's back, and with a vengence!

Thanks about pointing out the EBS; fifty fucking years of those ear-piercing annoyances, and unlike we'd been told since childhood, the Event of an Emergency arrived and our instructions? Doodley squat.

Is it possible that EBS was a smoke screen all along? Or did they just decide, oh, about the time of the Ford years, if the nukes started flying everyone was fucked regardless.

Jesus H. Christ!

Glad to see the fire again, mi dona quixote. St. Jude smiles upon us all.

Good post! Can everyone see the helmeted guy in the picture is pointing a gun at ... uh,oh (gulp) ... it is no longer a far-fetched idea to think our own troops could be ordered to fire at US! We got a sneak preview during Katrina where guns were pointed at both people trying to walk out across the bridge to Gretna & those trying to bring aid into NO. We must have been very close to total govt collapse for the MSM to broadcast as much of that disaster as it did. I wonder what would've happened if that moment had been seized & america had taken to the streets in protest. Oh yeah, the guy in the picture, that's what.

Enigma, I'm sure 100 outrages would only scrape the tip of the iceberg. But to me, this whole concept of 'the unitary president' with unlimited powers is the one keeping me awake lately. 'course, bush didn't think of that big word by himself, so there's another scary thought, the PNAC bush-puppeteers & Neo-Con King-Makers' wet dream of one-party rule forever, otherwise known as fascism. D.K.

This is good. This is very good. We could add the last Preziduncial innauguration - big, expensive, lavish balls thrown by the fat corporate war mongers in honor of their own pet goat.

Well, the reason the emergency broadcast system didn't go into effect on 9/11/01 is because BUSHCO was behind the attacks.

Thanks for coming by- and it looks like the list is growing- hmm, wonder how high it will get....
(1) Social Security
(2) Medicare
(3) Every Child Behind
(4) Unemployment ( Outsource Hell)

(7) Fake Election Celebrations
(8) Calling himself the "Uniter"

And DK is the source of the Great Paradise Picture....( not sure where she found it but it is great)

You always find a way to put a smile on my face, Enigma. :)

As in previous posts, you're right on top of the issues pointing out for your audience the unnecessary travesties President AWOL has inficted on the American public the past five years.

Since everyone is adding their personal favorite I may as well contribute one too.

Today I read the DHS finally filled the post of assistant secretary for cybersecurity two years after the position was created by Secretary Michael
Chertoff.

The position has been neglected because BushCo hasn't figured out a way for private contractors to profit from this security risk yet.

By hardening our cybersecurity defenses, I'm not referring to NSA spying on our Internet connections but a terrorist attack on the whole internet infrastructure which takes the system down all at once.

It would cripple both the government and public communications networks and darken computer screens across America making us vulnerable to a terrorist attack without being able to recognize the magnitude of the assault.

One security expert summarized Bush's complaceny in the matter this way:

"Part of the problem is that the government is simply not as interested as it should be in paying for online defense," according to Marcus Sachs, a former Bush administration advisor on Internet security.

"It's kind of hard to convince the Congress to continue to fund cybersecurity efforts when the entire nation is shaking in its boots over chemical weapons and
dirty bombs," says Sachs, who now works for SRI International, a research organization in Menlo Park, California. "We've not had any attributable cyberstuff that you could trace back to terrorism ... it's hard to make a case as to why we need to be worried about it."

Guess Bush has had a change of heart since we're in an election year and ordered Chertoff to fill the post before the public notices all his tough talk about defending the homeland is just a lot of hot air.

BTW ... the position was filled by a California college professor currently teaching security issues and who's advised White House Republicans previously on the subject.

His advice was probably ignored on 911 but I'm speculating Bush felt the best way to shut him up was hire him again. Then he couldn't say anything because it's an issue that might jeopardize national protection in a time of war.

Here's another thing to add to Enigma's list which we can all laugh about instead of cry.

Do a Google search and type in the the word "failure" w/o the quotation marks. The first item that pops up is George Bush's biography.

This is no joke ... do it yourself if you don't believe me.

Peace,
Cosmic

Hey now...

Don't be so hard on Der Fuehrer Bush. He did do one good thing. He inhaled some of the TOXIC FUMES and DUST at ground zero when he appeared and grab the bullhorn from the firefighter.

God how I pray he inhaled enough too give him some of the same medical issues that all those who gave their time and health too helping rescue and recover bodies during the cleanup and search at ground zero.

Glad you liked the paradise pic, enigma! I really don't remember exactly where I saw it, but I think it was included in a round-up of photos that one occasionally finds on news websites.

Which reminds me of something to add to your list: Where the hell has our once highly-vaunted MSM been since 2001? What turned formerly reputable news agencies into scared little propaganda shit-eaters, holding their hands out for the little bitty crumbles that squeeze out of the whitehouse? Obviously this regime learned one thing from the vietnam playbook: Don't be showing blown-up soldiers, murdered civilians & dead burnt babies on TV every night ... lest you lose all support here at home. D.K.
