MoonMongering....1.23.08

******************************************
It is so beautiful out.....There is a beautiful Moon...it is sitting up there looking so inviting....and there is this lovely bit a wispy veil that keeps floating across...So I laid on my bed this eve and looked out the window....I have this amazing window....(I decorated it after I took 6-6's tree down).I hung the Handmade Beaded Ice Sickle Ornaments on a Silver Ribbon and White Christmas Lights and I made lovely Snow Flakes from orgami paper that are painted with glitter and shimmery paint. But the best part in the winter is that the Moon sits right in the Middle. ( In the summer it is a Treehouse Window with leaves abound). I had an amazing day with my son, the kind of day where we really really talked...about all kinds of things that Matter : from Unexpected Death of a young actor, to Making Really Wonderful movies ( he wants to be a director), and music ( why disco sucks), and WHY he wishes he could Vote in the Next Election ( which he can't- he is too young..)

We watched SpidermanIII, and we talked about watching it be filmed. In 2006 It was filmed in Downtown Cleveland, at the time we lived in Downtown Cleveland, and it was filmed ON OUR STREET. It was very exciting, and we used to go get Starbucks snacks, and hit the curbs, and watch as they set up scenes and fix up the sets and FILM. It was very exciting in kind of a slow methodical way, but as 6-6 wants to make Movies it was a helluva learning experience....He loved it in a quiet critical way. We moved from downtown a year ago, because our Loft Buiding got Foreclosed, we were very lucky to find another home. But we do both miss the Loft...and we loved seeing our old Street all gussied up for the Film.

Today we ate too much popcorn and drank too much Diet Pepsi.....and we laughed as we looked at our old Street. Which was the best Medicine, the laughter or the Moon. I may never know....I don't think I need to know.....(The Moon knows it is the Boy with the Blue Eyes that makes me laugh...and warms my heart.)

***{ If you have children or grandchildren, this video attached to the Link will make you smile....it is Snow Patrol, a song my son loves, it is about Growing Up....and growing with your children...it is from the Soundtrack of Spiderman III, it is called Signal Fire}***

I just wanted to say your comment on Senator Clinton's attack mode was right on.

Stephanie Miller has a sound effect on her drivetime AM Air America show, kind of a slide whistle followed by a loud metallic ding, which she represents as Hillary banging on Bill's head with a frying pan. It's a sound effect that I am afraid sums up part of Hillary's personality.

I hesitate to criticize Hillary, on grounds that it could be misinterpreted as sexist, but couldn't she be a bit more like actual Democratic party heroes? Imagine FDR getting into a nasty scrap like that, and yelling, or even Eleanor. Or JFK, or Jackie, for that matter (even though she was never into politics), or Paul Wellstone. Or any number of Democratic politicos. I have never seen such vitriol displayed publicly in a presidential debate and some of them have been pretty lively.

Women are the "n......." of the world. I don't know who said that, but maybe that sentiment informs Hillary's behavior. Maybe her attitude is a kind of armor because she's a girl in a man's world.

Hillary seems to think she has to wade in there with the boys and PROVE she's really tough. You know, women didn't get the vote until 1920. Women have a hard life in this country and around the world. Very hard. She didn't get where she is just because she's married to Bill. And she has been through some serious shit with Bill. I think it is possible she has developed an inner cynicism wrapped in a hard outer shell. And she lashes out at anyone who challenges that position she's worked so hard to achieve through adversity.

But then, I kind of expect Republicans to be nasty. After all their entire belief system is mired in nastiness -- waging war, macho posturing, let the weak fall by the wayside and let the strong survive, cheating to win, all of that.

If Hillary wins the nomination, I am afraid I will have to hold my nose and vote for her. But I ain't happy with what she has revealed especially during the last debate.

BTW, that was a very nice piece of writing about the Spiderman shoot and the one below it about the wounded nutcrackers. You must be a saint to put up with that cat.

Always nice to see you...

Well...THE cat arrived here end of summer- bruised and battered and homeless..and 6-6 fell in love with the 7 pound shriveled wonder...and he has nursed it for monthes...and now it weighs 17 pounds...and 6-6 walks around with Harry around his neck like a fat fur collar...

I wrote about the moon and the Nutcrackers and my son...I frankly needed a Break from the Hillathon...and just needed to write on some things closer to Home...

( I did write up the entire Debate- I liveblog each and every effin one..)

About Hillary...I don't know what to think...I have always had men that were friends, and co workers, I went to an all male highschool..and then in college I hung out with Navy guys in Annapolis and sailed with them...and even when I ran my nonprofit- it was all men ( because Enigma did things like go filming illegal Dumping at 3am....or go to Nasty FED meetings with Corrupt EPA officials....and well, the women did not want to always do THOSE kind of things...but the men I worked with were great)....I never viewed the men in an adversarial way along my path...and that is WHAT I don't understand...at all..it is not needed..and it worries me- because how the hell is she going to get anything done if she is yelling and nitpicking and not listening...I am really worried...I also don't think she can WIN acting like this...she is acting like a Victim...that will not unite anyone or help bring us together.... sigh....

Newsguy...I agree with everything you said...but I really don't know what to do....but yes, I am worried....very...what I DREAM is that Obama and Edwards Team up...then the DEMS would have a REAL chance...REAL....

Lil' Man has been a huge Spiderman fan since he saw the first one on DVD. He's not as obsessed as he once was (we used to watch the first two movies every day two or three times a day). I took them to the actual theater to watch 3 and bought it for his birthday, but he's only watched it once or twice.

I had the pleasure of being a costumer on two movies and got to see the ins and outs of movie making and let me tell ya, except for the producers (who were schiesters...a story for another day), it was probably one of my most favorite life experiences as I got to see the movie experience from start to finish, including storyboarding, casting, and numerous location shoots and stunts. I also handled some of the props, so, even though I was not in the films, my influence surely was. I had my oldest son with me some of the times, so he got to enjoy the experience, too. For a while, he dreamed of being a producer and I think that is when he started writing more fiction. He's more into his music now.

I love having those heart to hearts with him when I know that we have connected. Sometimes he spends days sulking and then all of a sudden, out of the blue he just walks up to me, almost shy as if to say "hey, I wanna talk...about nothing in particular..." That's really cool. I especially like the part when he actually takes my advice (if he asks for it).

One of my favorite things about working at night is I get the pleasure of the moon in my travels. Thank you for sharing that.

Oh Dizzy....
That was so lovely......So nice to share..be sure to click the Video- there is an amazing video with kids making the Spiderman Play on a stage..it choked me up...and I love the song- about WHO we choose to GUIDE us...it is an amazing song- my son made me listen to it....I love when you share your mom stories....they always make me smile..you are such a good mom....many hugs...

About Spidey III- we loved 1 and 2 and it was so funny when we heard No3 was going to be filmed on our street....
I was walking home from the grocery one day, all tired and grumpy with two big paper bags of food, and rumpled and they were setting up the sets still , and this guy popped up on a golf cart and said I looked New Yorkerish ( yeah I looked tired and pissed) ...WOULD I be an extra- they needed more Redheads...we talked and I told him I would think on it and come find him if I decided I wanted to do it... I decided I really wanted to just sit on the curb with 6-6 everyday and watch- that that would mean Something Forever...
( I was really glad I turned it down...Btw 6-6 and I were extra's in a movie when he was baby....it was a Blast..so I remembered from all those years ago that it 's fun to watch a movie get made...it really is....)

I dislike the idea of a president who thinks she has to prove something. That is dangerous.

1) agree with 6-6, Disco SUCKS!

2) Newsguy, that quote is Yoko Ono. I've been wanting to use it for some time, but afraid to. You have more guts than I.

3) this may sound crazy, Enigma, but when I looked up at the moon tonight, I had the absolute strongest feeling, a real glimpse of epiphany, that Obama WILL be our next prez! I was staring at the beautiful light-reflecting orb & all of sudden I saw him sitting in the oval office. Yes!

I have to agree with you...and WHAT is she trying to prove ?

What I wrote above to Newsguy is so true...I really am worried- and do not think I have ever seen One Candidate DO THIS to another Candidate in Such a Way....it really concerns me- that this is NOT her Campaign Style- that this is HOW She gets things done, and solved problems - she bullies people ( we all have worked with these Kinds of FIXERS and Bosses- they are trouble)....and that is not going to work...not now...it will set us even further back....

I am thinking ahead- this is not just about the Campaign....it is WHAT will the Next 4 years be....Can we repair OUR Country...This is OUR Country- not JUST the Clinton's Empire....

namaste....

DK:
Well hell please come sit and look out my window and SEE THAT.....wow......

( thank you for remembering that quote was Yoko- it was really bugging me that I could NOT remember)

I think we all are Moon Mongering tonight....We have to think of the Future and PICTURE WHAT WE WANT....( and that includes envisioning what we KNOW we don't want...)

Wow Enigma! What a lovely post.

I think it is good for us to look to the heavens occasionally to get a sense of perspective.(I personally get hypnotized by cloud formations) Much of what we worry about is ultimately not very significant.

It is interesting that 6-6 wants to make movies. My daughter has worked on several film sets and is eve listed as PA (Production Assistant) on two that are coming out soon. One is called "Lonesome Joe" and I cannot remember the other one. But she also wants to direct. We have a long standing date when her first directorial effort premieres.

As for the Hillary/Obama fiasco, I have been gratified to see how much negative attention it has attracted concerning how Bill and Hill manipulate the facts. Ed Shultz flat out called Bill a liar on Tweety's show yesterday.(I posted it if you want to see it.)

I only hope the rest of the Democratic party wakes up to all of this before February 5th.

I think the moon refocuses us...I am awestruck that something so far away can effect our tides...Clouds are also something I love....

That is so wonderful about your daughter...Let us know when her movies come out...( I will pass on to 6-6)

About the Clinton issue- I will head over to your blog right now...( I am taking a break from Tweety...) thank you for that...

As a kid I used to sit on the peak of my roof on the top of Gallows hill in Salem and peruse the moon while dreaming.
That moon is cool and litening to that song and watching the video sure made me reminisce about raising my sons and today they are in Bush's wars. Makes you think!Namaste!

The moon has been wonderful these past few days...from watching it just before the full moon and then the full moon....the nights have been very cold and the stars just amazing....

Re my glasses....well I am now in bit of a dispute over the glasses with the company...my sister suggested I talk to them to get the order cancelled....I am getting the royal run around...I got a call from the shop today and they are ready....so I am in a quandry...pay the final $450 and chalk it all up to a very bad experience...or stand my ground and still be out $450 and still no glasses....urgh!

enigma4ever said...

RN:
oh my I am so sorry...the glasses should have been a wonderful experience.....( I left you a messege...but it sounds like you just might have to get them....oh dear)
