742,000 Jobs lost in March....( Revised February total was 706,000)

(Reuters) –" Job losses in the U.S. private sector accelerated in March, more than economists' expectations, according to a report by ADP Employer Services on Wednesday.Private employers cut jobs by a record 742,000 in March versus a 706,000 revised cut in February that was originally reported at 697,000 jobs, said ADP, which has been carrying out the survey since 2001.
The big drop foreshadows a huge decline in the non-farm payroll reading in the government's employment report that will be released on Friday, some analysts said."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UnEmployment this Month has hit 8.5%, which is what it was in 1983.We all know it is higher in some States and Counties.
Meanwhile Cantor says that Dems are over-reacting to the Economic Crisis.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another point that needs to be made- think of the 2 Million that have been Laid Off in the past few monthes- they don't have Health Insurance or Healthcare at this Critical Juncture in their lives, and that really means that now our UnInsured Numbers are actually over 50 Million....the Entire Population of Canada....

I couldn't believe Cantor actually had the brass to say that the Dems were "overreacting" to the crisis. It just shows how totally clueless and unconcerned the GOP is with the trials being faced by ordinary Americans. Has he not read the paper and seen the "Bush gardens" popping up all over the country?
What is even more galling is his saying this on a day when we set a new record for newly unemployed.

Monk:::
I think that Cantor says this is amazing- I read the NUMBERS and then right after read his Deluded Insane Assessment...I don't know what to think ??? is he insane ? deluded ? ( He did go to see Brittany Spears the night Obama gave his Economic Address- maybe he never actually even listened to it....)Has he not seen his People in HIS state suffering ?( I need to post Homeless in Virginia - and mail it to his office ?) Hell, there are Homeless and Jobless in DC right out his office doors.... I am stymied....and angry....

He should lose his job due to Incompetence...or stupidity...

Cantor's state unemployment is @ 6.6%..... but s bunch more states are @ 9 & into double digit unemployment.

This jackass should be made to live in a tent city for a month. Then he would think they are under-reacting.

enigma4ever said...

yeah a month in a Tent would do Cantor some good....

If they qualify for unemployment benefits the stimulus package did include help in paying for COBRA. At least that's some help for some people and an acknowlegement that, however well intentioned, COBRA is unaffordable on its own.

enigma4ever said...

no zenta it is a help truely- but it is only temporary and only after a certain date- and in the end- Cobra needs to managed and rolled into unemployment benifits- as it is now it is like trying to apply for new insurance and it is exorbitant- and that is why so few people sign up-and it is temporary anyways....

many of the newly unemployed are facing monthes without work or even being underemployed and having no insurance....

zen yenta-
I hope you understood what I meant- that was terrible english when I went back re-read it....oye...

( yes- it is a help- but we do need to do more).
